significance of pelleting

The purpose of pelleted feed is to take finely divided, sometimes dusty, unpalatable (unpleasant to taste) and difficult-to-handle feed material and, by using heat, moisture and pressure to form it into the larger particles. These larger particles are more palatable, and easier to handle and usually result in improved feeding results when compared to unpelleted feed.
